Encapsulating Kindness

Updated: Nov 7, 2019

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them." -Luke 6:32

It may be difficult to forgive those who have wronged us, but loving those who are hard to love goes hand in hand in terms of difficulty.

“It's just everything you are- you encapsulate it.”

Every part of our carnal nature goes against it. We are told time and time again to treat others the way that we want to be treated. However, what happens when others fail to treat us the way that they would want to be treated? That is when our human instincts start to kick in and have to be combatted by a spiritual response. This is when we have to remind ourselves that the old has passed away and the new has come. It is so necessary to do heart checks throughout each day, ensuring that our actions, words, and thoughts are in line with the obedience of God's Word. We have to remind ourselves of the reason that we are here- to be stewards of Christ. Everything that is on the earth is the Lord's, including every human among us, and therefore it is our job to take care of what we are given. We are not to base how we treat others off of how they treat us, but to have the type of unconditional love that Jesus demonstrated for us throughout His time on earth. It is Christ-like love alone that is strong enough to love without bounds. God contains so much love that it permitted Jesus to pray for those who crucified Him. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." -Luke 23:34 Better yet, it is Jesus' crucifixion that allows us to have this same access to the love of the Father at work in and through us.

To Be As Gentle As A Precious Child..

And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." -Matthew 18:3

Tiny fingers and toes so gentle and unaware of the world's cruelty that encompasses them. How can we turn back time and channel this innocence after our exposure to such wreckage? Perhaps the key is to not allow the things around us to permeate and taint our spirit. Like a tiny little girl holding her daddy's hand on a busy sidewalk, we must continuously hold our Father's hand in order to have peace amidst the storm. The minute we begin to let go, in slips the fear and doubt of what the world looks like without our Father- a world full of the enemy's lies. Continuously feeding on the Truth allows us to love with a love that is not of this world. In order to produce love, we must learn what love really means- a love far beyond what this society teaches to be true. My friend, in order to learn we must seek.

Be so incredibly kind that people don’t have to write about you to remember. They don’t have to talk about the “moments”. It’s just everything you are- you encapsulate it. You are the essence of it.

You may be the only Bible that someone ever reads. How can you encapsulate Christ-like love every day?
